Oh, youth

Yesterday was AWESOMEEEE. We didn't do anything CRAZY but it was like "whoa. HANGING OUT. This is fun!" There were no long talks about our thoughts on life and guesses about the future. It was just the old Meltang makes her round of calls to everyone in TMV, there's about a 30-50% success rate, we decide on a place but no one wants to commit to it, people arrive and wait for the latecomers, after some deliberation we decide to change places, we eat, we sit in Danny's car and drive RANDOMLY and DANGEROUSLY, we end up in Pasadena, we go to Danny's house, and we play video games for five hours straight before someone caves and decides it's time to end the night. In short, THE EPITOME OF TMV!

I think I might have made some gleeful squeaks when Danny went like 110mph on the freeway. LOVE!!! HIS CAR. LOVEEE Danny's driving. :) Love how he blasts Acceptance in his car and it just feels so right. Everything yesterday was like "omg I'm young again! Young and carefree!"

NOW another day continues! I'M SO EXCITED.

Superbowl Sunday

I watched the superbowl for the first time today. Not only that, but it's probably the longest I've ever watched a football game. I didn't even watch it in its entirety. Alvin came over and we kept switching between that and Mythbusters. I also stopped watching when there was only 2:45 left in the 4th quarter, which was the most important part of the entire game. I was sitting in bed reading when I heard a room down the hall yell and I thought "damn ... I probably should have just finished the game." Oh well. Football is fun to watch. I've always wanted to throw some sort of Superbowl party but I don't have friends to invite. My current friends would just change the channel or exit the living room to do other things. Which is why I think if I were to move in with someone, I would want them to like sports so we could invite friends over for a sports game party.

Alvin is sleeping on my floor right now. It's 8:05 pm. I was supposed to do all my homework yesterday but I haven't done any. I also didn't do laundry or go swimming. HEHE But today was for a good reason. Frances C came up! She laughed at the message I left on her voicemail because I had missed her call and I called back with "HI FRANCES! SORRY I MISSED YOUR CALL! I WAS AT THE GYM! I have to shower! Call me back around 10:30" and she and Alvin thought it was funny that I had already gotten up and gone to the gym by 10am. "It's like 'Sorry! I just got back from skiing!'" I walked extremely quickly to Dwinelle to meet up with her and took her to Raleigh's, where I've eaten like ... 3x in the past week. They have the best Caesar salad ever. Alvin came and we hung out in my room and then we went downstairs to get Ryno's and walked around campus. Frozen yogurt is TERRIBLE with skittles, as Alvin found out. Three hours later, she had to leave :( The last I ever saw of her was on Telegraph, as she was climbing into a Toyota Hybrid.

Alvin just kicked a bag and I looked over and he smiled and waved at me and then started snoring again. Watching Alvin sleep is like watching a baby sleep. It's very cute.

Aw! I wish my friends could visit more often. It's really not that far! A 5 hr drive ... at select times of the day. I love walking around campus, but it's even more fun when I'm walking around with friends. It's also a great excuse to eat out, and I've probably eaten out more often when friends come up.

I hate my women's studies class, which should be expected since I chose it because it "sounded interesting." I don't care about the class and I'm not willing to spend any money on it, which is very bad considering I have two reading assignments due and I have not yet gotten the $50 reader. Eff that! I don't want to get a reader! However, if I don't I won't be able to write the paper about the readings. Dilemma.

I'm reading a surprisingly good book called "Love and other impossible pursuits" which I have to return to the libary by 2/11. It's kind of embarassing to borrow these kind of girly books from the library, but whatever.

I've gotten extremely lazy about school. I need to remind myself that I planned to get a 4.0 this semester, and also that I planned to have a really flat stomach by 2/22.

Home is where my leftover possessions are

I actually had a few important things to do today, that I haven't done at all. My dad leaves for work at 1, so I have this general "I'm not going to do shit until 1:00" feeling. From the moment I wake up to the time he leaves, I sit and look at websites, never moving from my chair, while he showers me with cut fruit. Not good. But today is the last day! Tomorrow, friends come home for the weekend and after that, I'm BACK AT SCHOOL!

Where I have to:
- take care of club stuff
- take care of asuc stuff
- go to the gym
- shrink stomach by eating less
- look for picture cds, upload selected photos onto costco.com, have mom print them
- be friendly
- submit fafsa. FAFSA?!
- decide which class to drop because NO I am NOT taking 6 classes in a semester where I'm working, working out, and trying to make friends

STRESS-STRESS-STRESS. Yet I continue to sit here, debating whether I should rewatch ALL three seasons of Lost or just the 3rd season.

Anyway, what I ended up doing today was going to the bank to deposit a $500 check from my parents (free money! delightful) and going through old photos on my computer. I might have mentioned this before, but there are a bunch of pictures on this home computer that I never burned onto a photo cd. It's bizarre, because they're not "the best pictures" or "the most recent pictures." They're just ... miscellaneous photos that didn't qualify for its own album, and were kind of just left here when I transferred all my files onto my laptop and headed off to Berkeley.

So when I come home, there's always a moment where I'm bored but too lazy to get off the computer, so I go through the photos. It's only been two years, but I already feel older looking at them. Clothing and hairstyles have changed, and for me at least, the inner-TMV groups have slightly changed.

Take a look, but I don't think they'll mean much unless you were in the memory. It's weird because two years ago, I would think most of these pictures would be unprintable but now I'm like "wow ... I would totally frame that picture." Does anyone even use webshots besides me? I don't like flickr very much, especially because I think my phototaking abilities are an insult to the flickr community, which takes perfectly focused shots of grass and random people.

More in depth look at the pictures because there was another point I wanted to make in this blog but I can't remember it at all:

1) Taken during Pow Wow class: Sometimes I remember how shitty of a copy editor I was in yearbook and I'm really embarrassed. I didn't do anything in that class, because no one wanted to bother going through a copy editor before running in proofs. For me, I was like YES I can sit around and do nothing, and as the year went on, this was just cemented. I hope in the future I'm more proactive about things and make a better contribution to groups I join, instead of waiting for someone to delegate tasks to me (which I know I still do)

Also, WEIRD. I remember skipping classes with Alvin to eat at Souplantation during lunch. And I recently was reminded of the time Alvin stole a pack of club veg membership forms and had random people fill them out, because Souplantation said they'd pay me a nickel or a dime for each one I had someone fill out. Alvin was a really good best guy friend but I don't think we're best friends anymore which is sometimes sad to think about, but at least we're still friends.

AND HAHA CHRYSTAL. My college roommate of two years. Life is sometimes really weird in bringing people together.

2) I can't believe there was a time when I could angle my head like that and NOT get double/triple chins. Looking at some high school photos makes me really sad because then I realize how thin I once was, but didn't know it at the time. MUST. LOSE WEIGHT!

3) Jackie looks nothing like what she does now. But Danny's house hasn't really changed

4) Now I really want to go to the beach again with friends. TMV doesn't do anything at the beach. I wonder what people in other parts of the country would say. We live in SoCal, known for its beaches, and all we do is go, stare at the water, and then go shopping. One day, we're going to go there, EVERYONE will play in the water, and we'll have a nice game of volleyball or football, before breaking out some delicious food to roast over the firepit. ONE DAY.

5) I can't remember the last time we wore capris or shorts.

6) Sometimes, the picture is better than anything I can say

7) We actually rarely play Smash anymore, I think. If I were rich, I think I would buy Danny a PS3. Um.. never mind. I just looked at it on Amazon and realized it cost $500. I thought it was $200 and I was going to buy it for him as a thank you for the infinite number of times he's driven us, but ... $500 >> $200

8) I remember calling Stephanie and asking where Jackie was, and she told me her toe was ACTUALLY broken. And I had like a massive panic attack. It was a weird moment

9) Those don't look like real legs

10) Jackie, I hope you don't get sad by this picture. I think it's interesting to remember old times.

*I'm skipping pictures! Don't get confused*

16) I think I have a pretty negative view of males in general, but all the guy friends I've ever known are always extremely nice, respectful, giving, ... I honestly think that whoever they marry are pretty lucky people. Which is why sometimes I meet some guys and I'm like WHOA who the hell raised this jackass? It's really bizarre sometimes. Although I think I should also work on knowing people better, instead of passing judgment too quickly.

*Skipping again! Sometimes there's no point in writing about a picture for the third time*

18) I really want to dress up again. After I lose weight. But OMG. Dressing up is actually really fun. I want to curl my hair like that again, except I'm really too lazy to keep it up

22) I'm 100% not lying about this caption. I really don't remember hanging out with only Danny, Connie Y and Jackie. I don't remember at all what we used to talk about. Which is a shame, because I really wonder what Danny used to talk about.

23) I actually really do miss birthday cakes. It's like ... showing that you care about the person, you've remembered their birthday and preordered a cake, you're eating it with many of your close friends, and when you look at a picture with a cake in it, there's instant memories of celebration. Birthdays are happy times because generally, everyone's on their best behavior and if you did things well, there's ONE person who will remember the day as theirs. I think once I was like "it would be kind of cool if my friends mailed me a birthday cake" but thinking about it, it would be a very sweet gesture but how depressing would it be when you're eating that cake alone in your kitchen?

26) I love how Henry and I actually went through and tallied up the number of times everyone appeared in a picture. I actually kind of remember that day. It was weird because I think by the end of school, I had already started the "I'm annoyed at Henry at all seconds of the day" phase but we still decided to do the yearbook ad together anyway. And then he showed up at my door after track practice, I think, and I criticized all these little things about the ad. One thing that particularly sticks out is how we disagreed over whether there should be a period at the end of sentence, and if it HAD to be there, whether it should be a different color and we argued over it for a fairly long time and then I relented. I still notice the period. HAHA I think it turned out well but I also think one day we'll look at it and be like WOW that looks really poorly photoshopped.

That's all. I enjoy those rare moments when I actually remember something.

*Right after publishing the post, I remembered what else I wanted to say. I wanted to say why I love everyone in TMV and how appreciative I am (especially after they bought a freaking camera for me) but this post is long enough :) *

My mom is surprisingly observant

My mom was watching 60 minutes and they interviewed Mark Zuckerberg. He's actually pretty hot. In a cute, awkward looking $3billion dollar guy kind of way. Anyway, afterwards, she wanted to look up someone on facebook, but then she got distracted by my own profile and insisted that she look at my pictures

Me: NO. You cannot look at them
Mom: WHY. ARE THERE NAKED PICTURES?
Me: WHAT?! NO! WHY would there be naked pictures?!
Mom: Then show me them

Quite the crafty lady.

Mom: Let me try to guess their names. Ok. This one is Melissa.
*I burst out laughing*
Mom: Why are you laughing so hard? I got it right. This one is ... I can't remember her name. She goes to Cornell...
Me: No she doesn't but you're close.
Mom: Ok, she goes to ... something West. Eastnorth- erm westnorth ... Northwestern.
Me: Yes
Mom: She lives on 3rd avenue ... I'll try someone else. That one is Connie
Me: No it's not
Mom: Oh, that's Jackie Tong (she pronounces it Dong for some reason). That is Frances Chen. That is Danny.
*she proceeds to get them all right, going Danny > Frances L > Eric > Connie L > Henry > Alvin > Connie Y > Owen*
Me: Who's that?
Mom: That's the boy you danced with. Um ...
Me: He goes out with Frances Chen
Mom: I know that. But I do not know his name... Give me a hint. What is the first letter?
Me: That's too easy. What about her?
Mom: I can't remember. You saw her when we went to New York ... give me a hint
Me: Fine. R
Mom: REGINA!
Me: And that one has four letters
Mom: Eric! No...
Me: It starts with a W
Mom: Will!

So I'm actually extremely surprised that she remembers everyone, and although she didn't remember Regina or Will's name, she knew a lot about them, actually. Although, 10 seconds later I showed her a new picture and she got confused.

Mom: Who's that? That must be Frances' boyfriend. But that's not Will! WHO IS THAT BOY?!
Me: That's Will
*mom whips off her glasses and puts her face about 1 inch from the screen*
Mom: Oh yes ... it is.

Don't worry Frances C. I told her that you did not tell your parents so she cannot mention it if she ever sees them. HAHA She said she liked Henry the most, and I assumed she would say it was because he seemed very helpful and knew how to cook, but I asked why and she said it's because he speaks Chinese to her. I guess my white friend Caroline has no hope of winning her affections.

Did you know you can upload photos onto Costco.com and then order them online, and within an hour you can pick them up at a warehouse (or have them mailed). HOW AWESOME IS THAT?! OMG I am going to start printing pictures. I'm feeling a bit nostalgic

This is actually kind of weird because we don't look all that different, but I've seen a lot of pictures where I'm like "WHOAAA he/she used to look like THAT?!"

Happy New Years! (edited 1/1)

Boo to the winds! It was too windy at Disney so they didn't set off any fireworks. But I'm glad we paid for parking because I still had lots of fun. We walked around downtown disney and even though I was a freaking fifth wheel it was not weird. :) I should find someone to date, but then we wouldn't have had space in the car. I was like "D, find someone for me by midnight. Someone white" but he only pointed out old white guys to me. D is awesome. He will ask strangers to take group pictures for us, which everyone is generally not inclined to do. He also bought Connie and me hot drinks while Will and Frances stood in line for kettle corn. I freaking love what happened next.

We went back to stir our drinks and Connie had gotten one of those wooden stirrers and threw it away. She walks away, right when a 25-year old looking woman comes up and gets a wooden stirrer too. D says loudly to Connie "WOW Thanks for wasting wood!" and the stranger lady looks at him with a mix of surprise, confusion, and WTH. D very smoothly says "oh no not you, happy New Year!" and I'm to his left side laughing hysterically. It was awesome. I wish someone had recorded it.

Also, when we drove into the parking lot, the lady who took our money looked like a Disney character to me. This is not to be mean, but to simply comment on her hairstyle and height, but she looked like one of the Disney villains. So after we drove past I was like "GUYS! Didn't she look like one of the Disney witches?!" Everyone goes "uh... no... which one?" "One of the lesser known ones! I think she was in Sleeping Beauty. But not that tall black one. Does she take another form during the movie? Hmm ... maybe not sleeping beauty. I don't know! I'll find a picture of her at the store and point her out" "They only have princesses there, they don't have villains!"

And once we start going into stores I'm all "OK let's keep an eye out." There were some wall paintings of Alice in Wonderland so I was like "maybe she was in Alice in Wonderland... or maybe Robin Hood? She has blonde hair." (WAIT WTF, isn't it blonde not blond? There is a red squiggly under blonde)

Frances goes off and comes back and says "I think I found her. Are you sure she has blonde hair, meltang?" "YES! I'm certain of it! It's blonde!" "The person I found has purple hair" "Then it's not her!" "Let's go look anyway" ... "OMG IT'S HER!!!"
Somehow, the fact that the witch I was thinking of did NOT have blonde hair and was not in ANY of the movies I guessed was fairly unsurprising.

New Years is unexpectedly fun. HAHA. I don't like Thanksgiving or Christmas Day but I think 12/31 turns out ok most of the time.

More quotes just because I'd like to remember them:

*while at Frances' house*
Frances' mom: Be safe tonight!
Me: Well, we're going to Disneyland so I thought that it would be pretty safe
*Mom walks away*
Me: I was about to tell her how my cousin went to Vegas once for New Years and they were pulling over gangbangers and taking handguns from them, to show her that Disneyland is much safer in comparison, but I realized that I probably shouldn't
Frances: There would have been a long awkward pause, and then a speech

*while driving Connie and Frances to my house*
Me: Fine. I'll drive you guys. But no one can speak to me.

Connie: Are you nervous? Why are you clutching the steering wheel so hard?
Me: THIS IS HOW I DRIVE.

*Driving past a police women controlling traffic who is actually quite young*
Me: Wow, I want to learn how to put my hair up like hers. It's pretty
Di (rolling down window): HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Me: DON'T FLIRT WITH HER.

Di: How old is your brother?
Me: He's four years older than me so 20. (realizing that this means it's illegal for him to drink) Wait a minute ... 22? 23? 24?
Di: How old are you?!
Me: 19. I think he's 22.
(After typing this out, I realized that he's actually three years older than me, but I never caught my mistake)

*In Sephora*
Will (holding some bath product): WHOA what is this? It looks delicious

Me: My brother said there's a 50/50 chance that they won't have fireworks because there's a lot of wind but I was like "of COURSE they'll have fireworks! Otherwise people would get angry"
*Upon reaching Downtown Disney, where there are signs with Fireworks Canceled signs*
Group: aww...

Christmas 07

Today was awesome. I like spontaneous plans. I also like reconnecting with friends. And when people tell me private things because it makes me feel like I am worth telling something to. Tell me more! I promise if I had good gossip about myself, I'd tell you all. :) I'm going to restart that habit of writing down what I did in my little day planner. I feel like the past two years have been erased because I didn't keep a very good log of it. Lost memories!

Minuses:
My stomach is much bigger and I have my family dinner tomorrow
I'm breaking out because I left my cleanser at school

Pluses:
Hmm... there is a lot and I'm tired and I can't really say any without making a giant xanga-like entry. Winter break has been pretty good so far. But while I'm super happy hanging out with my friends, it will only be sadder when we start being too busy to hang out every day during break. Tears for the future.

While at Connie's apartment I filled out one of their "Things I want in my significant other." See if you can read my writing. It's pretty hard because some of the letters look faded and my handwriting isn't that great to begin with

Merry Christmas everyone!

What a little bitch

Today I watched HIMYM at Eric's house with Jackie and Will. YES! I got someone else to watch HIMYM and LIKE IT too. I already have plans for after we complete all three seasons. Friday Night Lights!

We tried to make plans for Christmas. Sadly, all we could think of were: sit around and drink. Plans to go to Disneyland crumbled once we all thought about what we would rather do with $66. What DO people do on holidays?

Ok, kids are cute

I'm freaking bored right now but I'm also too lazy to get up and shower so I was browsing through strangers' blogs and someone had blogged about going to Disneyworld with her kid and there were some pictures and OMG SO CUTE.

Right now I am
Looking at:
Girl seeing Cinderella Castle for the first time. The whole set is actually really cute to look at. And I laughed at the notes on Snow White. If I were a parent, I'd hope to get some pictures like these and frame them. Or maybe by that time, I'll just upload them onto a hologram. (I don't think I've ever used that word so I had to look it up on dictionary.com and I wrote holograph at first before changing it. The definition made absolutely no sense to me. More proof that I'm not really that smart)

Listening to:
Iron and Wine - The Trapeze Swinger

I was watching In Good Company with Johnston yesterday and this was the last song and it was pretty. I didn't even feel like it was nine minutes. I didn't bring my computer back for break, so the only music I have is on my iPod. My little iPod shuffle that contains about 80 songs. I'm hoping I don't grow to hate the songs by January 21st.

Wanting to:
Boo. Danny is leaving for Japan tomorrow so I don't think we will be watching How I Met Your Mother for a long time. We're on second season and Eric and Danny were already laughing super hard at the two weaker episodes of the season. I cannot wait to see their reaction to Slap Bet.

Fun memory notes:
- I'm sad because I don't think I can drink ANYTHING with a drop of alcohol in it without turning red. Johnston made some drinks with Bailey's Irish cream and I still turned red. Tears. I thought fat people could drink MORE alcohol
- Decision to order a tempura ice cream while Danny and Eric ate sushi = best idea ever
- Telling my dad I needed a ride to Danny's while exiting Tasty Garden. "Where is it?" "Over there" *points to street which is literally a block away* "THERE?! You could just walk there!" "Fine I'll walk there then" "No no! I'll give you a ride."
- Getting picked up from Johnston's house by Danny, Eric, Regina and Connie Y. which was the loudest car ride I've had in a long time. Lots of screaming. Lots of yelling. Mostly Danny going "LIAR! LIAR!" to Connie and me going "FUCKER! FUCK YOU!" to Danny.
- Danny driving down Michilinda, apparently so we could look at Christmas lights but most of us didn't know where we were headed. So that lead to "Danny ... where are we going?" "To look at Christmas lights!" "WHAT?! I THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO IN N OUT. WTF"
- Danny stopping on a hill to look at the LA city lights. Him and Eric were sitting in the front quietly while the girls were talking in the back when Danny was like "WTF. Why are the guys looking at Christmas lights and the girls just talking?!"
- In N Out. Enough said.

I'm not in this picture. Because I don't wish to be stalked. HA. Actually I'm sure I've given enough information to be found by a complete stranger.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

I just got home from a 7 hour road trip from Berkeley to Arcadia. I'm ready to just crawl into bed and sleep. It's ridiculously cold in my house. Maybe I should have brought the really warm socks that Alvin bought me last year. I would blog about the last few days but I think I'm too tired to really make it exciting. Highlights:
- Getting everyone to love How I Met Your Mother. It's so gratifying to hear Eric's loud, full laughter when he really likes a joke. It's even more insane to see Danny laugh his silent laugh, and actually pause the episode just to stop and laugh at the line. He was always extremely willing to watch an episode whenever we wanted, which makes me think WOW he must really really like it because he would even stop his episode of Firefly to just watch HIMYM when we wanted
- Eating Cafe Intermezzo Marinated Tofu sandwich as my last meal. Yay to me for not getting something from Cafe Durant and going over to Cafe Intermezzo instead. It was delicious and made a great last Berkeley meal of the year. I now love their tofu sandwiches again. I just have to get less mustard
- Deciding to go swimming at 11:00 in the morning and worrying that they would wake up before I got home to take them to breakfast. I got home at 12:45. They woke up at 2:30
- Totally messing up my sleep schedule by sleeping at 5:45am last night, waking up at 6:45, taking Alvin to the airport, and then resuming sleep from 8:30. When I woke up I thought it was late, late afternoon, possibly 3:00. It turned out to be 10:30
- The boys getting insane food cravings while watching HIMYM last night, during which they tore through all five bags of chips, 4 laughing cow cheeses, and a bunch of cereal and granola
- On the way to Alvin's, we went downstairs, discovered it was raining, decided to not get an umbrella, which was only 3 flights of stairs away, walked through campus and ended up getting extremely wet.
- Playing Bang and now I actually recognize the symbols. Danny is a very strategic player

OMG It's insanely cold. I'm starting to shiver. Purpose of this entry: I came home and started going through the sites that I check up on. I wanted to see what movies are out in Arcadia (I want to watch Juno and Atonement) when I saw a trailer for Forgetting Sarah Marshall. OMG I did not know Jason Segel was in this movie. <3 him. Although the guy who plays Kristen Bell's second boyfriend looks too much like Justin Bobby from The Hills

Who sleeps this late?!

OMG It's 2:20 pm and my friends have YET to wake up. I can't believe this. How can people stay in bed this late?! In the time that they've slept, I've gone to the gym, showered, figured out every button on my camera (yay!), had a fun convo with Connie L, and checked facebook and blogs many, many times. I have not sat in a dark room for this long ... ever. Tears. I'm in prison. :(

I'm not annoyed though because if they weren't here, I'd just be sitting alone at home. At least this way, I can occasionally look down and see Danny stirring in his sleep. I think this is what it feels like to watch little babies sleep. I want to take a picture but Danny will be angry at me.

When they arrived, Eric said one of the questions they asked each other on the way up was "what is one physical trait and one personality trait your significant other must have?" I can add one

- Wakes up early

Sitting in my dark room

I just finished my finals. By the end, I was not in the mood to study computer science at all. Boo to that class. It is raining and windy up in Berkeley, which is no fun and now my pants are drenched. Everyone is sleeping in my room and I don't think they'll be getting up until lunchtime. OH I SHOULD GYM. I don't like the idea of taking my umbrella to the gym though, it's a huge hassle. I'll debate after I finish writing this entry.

I used to get very AHH!!AHHH!!! if we went out and things were not perfectly planned. Now, I've grown to just let things fall as they may because plans seem to change anyway. Yesterday was one of those days. I hadn't even decided where we would eat for breakfast when I woke up. Danny woke up surprisingly early. We went to La Note, which is this super cute super cozy delicious French restaurant. I got some sort of omelette that had orange marmalade in it. Danny, Eric and Jackie even got hot drinks, I think because there was such a grown-up coffee feel to the place. I think everyone enjoyed their meal, even though it wasn't as cheap as usual Berkeley meals go. Efforts to find a fabulous picture of La Note on flickr.com have failed.

Then we set off on our walk down Shattuck. Danny suggested a movie, and I was like ok! When he saw that Enchanted was playing, he got excited so we decided to watch it. Henry was like "what is this about?" and I was like "WAIT. You don't know what this movie is? NO ONE TELL HIM" and everyone started going "NO ONE TELL HENRY! NO ONE TELL HENRY!" but then we walked in and he saw a movie poster and he was like AGHHH NOOO. I guess Amy Adams singing is not appealing.

We went in and the movie theater was in a small little room and we were the first ones in. They were very excited about that. We all sat in our own rows. The movie turned out to be pretty good. Danny plans on downloading that album later. Danny also enjoyed singing the songs as we walked around Berkeley.

Imagine that, only with Danny

Amy Adams is freaking cute! I think her character could have been unbearably annoying but it was pretty well done. The singing was actually fairly nice, although I think the problem with Disney movies now is that they try to churn out music that would sound good on the radio, so it gets radioplay and becomes a popular hit for a few weeks. But I think a lot of the magic in classic Disney movies had to do with the soundtrack, and those songs just aren't supposed to be played on the radio.

After that, everyone was happy because the movie was actually good. We walked around with a "What are we doing now? I don't know we're going to walk around" mentality. We went into Games of Berkeley which is this toy store with what seems like every board game imaginable. Danny happily bought Bang. Walked on with the intention of eating at Cheeseboard ... only to find that it's closed on Mondays. Boo.

So we backtracked out of Gourmet Ghetto, with me going "well at least you saw the pretty part of Berkeley!" and headed to Brazil Cafe. The stand was closed, but we went to the actual restaurant where we got sandwiches, although to Eric and Henry they were like little finger foods. Then we stopped by Alvin's place, where we played some Smash. Danny left, saying "I'm happy now. I got to play smash." We all agreed that Danny is complexly simple.

Went through campus to head to Cafe Intermezzo but they decided that they wanted Asian Ghetto again so we went there. Try to guess who got what. 1) Udon 2) Donut Holes 3) Giant hoagies sandwiches

Then we went home and it became a sort of random night where people did what they wanted. In the end, Jackie and I went to bed around 3am and the boys had gone downstairs to the main lounge to play Bang. I woke up at 7am to head off to my final when I discovered that the floor was completely empty. I went downstairs to see them PLAYING BANG. Goodness. I doubt they slept at all. THEY ARE NOW THOUGH. It's 9:40! It's a good thing I ate a yogurt parfait before my final or I'd be sitting here getting hungrier by the second.

I came into the room and Jackie was like "Eric wanted you to wake him up when you came back." So I shook Eric and he turned away from me, still sleeping. I shook him again and he opened an eye and I was like "Did you want me to wake you up?" and he was like "oh yeah" *closes eyes* Then Henry's alarm went off and I turned it off and I shook him said "did you set your alarm for 9:00?" and he nodded and I thought he was about to get up when he ... closed his eyes and turned away. Eric's phone later rang, and I threw it at his pillow and he made a move like "GAH why is it suddenly ringing so loudly" before he turned it on silent and went to sleep. Basically, I think I'm going to be sitting in my room quietly for the next five hours.

This was a really xanga-like entry. Lame huh? Well, I don't think we're going to snowboard in Lake Tahoe because there is now a snowstorm and we can't drive up through a snowstorm. The boys reacted with a "YAY MORE BERKELEY FOOD" and I reacted with "oh good I didn't want to spend money on a snowboard rental / oh good now I can gym before I leave Berkeley / oh crap I don't know where else to take them for food." I guess we shall see.

I LOVE my friends! And gifts

HEHEHE Danny, Eric, Henry and Jackie made their way up to Berkeley yesterday. We're planning to go to Lake Tahoe after my final on Tuesday, and the idea of our taking a SUV to snowy mountains seems like a plan just waiting to be cancelled. But in the end they made it up!

I'm currently waiting for them to get up. Jackie just got up. I think Henry will be next, once Jackie comes back. Then Eric and then ... much later after many seasons pass, Danny will awaken. HEHE I'm sitting in the dark typing on Danny's computer. He brought it for the sole purpose of abusing our DC++ I think. I found out yesterday that Danny is RIDICULOUSLY stubborn. He couldn't get DC++ to work and I kept going "just let me look at it" for about 30 minutes before he finally gave up. I got it to work.

So they came up yesterday and I gave them specific directions to turn RIGHT on durant and then another right so they could drive west on Channing. Instead, I see a giant Durango with Eric at the wheel, going down the wrong way. They had to pay $2.00 for parking. Asian in me goes "NOOOOOO" I went up to parking and said hi before Danny turned to me and said his bladder was about to explode. So we ran down to my dorms and he peed. HAHA We unpacked and they marveled at the large open space of my dorm room and then we drove down to Alvin's. Where he was SOOO excited to see them. You could hear it in his voice. And how he ran downstairs and hugged everyone so happily. We were in the car and before I could call Alvin to come out, Danny started yelling "ALLVINNNN! ALLLLVINNNNN" and when Alvin picked up he was like "I'm coming! I HEAR DANNY!!!" *hangs up*

We ate at Gypsy's which was awesome because everyone was super hungry so normally extremely filling, makes you want to explode Gypsys was more like appropriate amount of eating. We were going to go to Papamingos but they were too full. So we went back to my dorm and they gave me a totally random gift of A CAMERA!!!

AHHH Isn't it AWESOME? When I opened the box I was like "wait where's the camera" because I'm so used to lugging around the giant one that can't even be found on the market anymore. I spent a long time afterwards marveling over everything in the box. MANUALS! Mmm they smell so nice. A pretty white USB connector that is much nicer looking than the gray one that comes with Sony cameras. Little tiny memory sticks! A cool little wrist strap. An AWESOME lithium battery. OMG I no longer have to use those giant rechargable AA batteries. LITHIUMMM BATTERIESSS!!! The charger is freaking cute too. It looks like a garage door opener. I think you can tell how happy I am.

They even got me a 2.0GB memory stick from Black Friday HEHEHE. Too bad it does not fit in my camera. At one point Eric had to pull it out with my eyebrow tweezers. BUT AHH AWESOME. HEHE when we tried to open the memory stick wrapping, I didn't have scissors but I was like "well I use Chrystal's sewing scissors" and everyone was like "no that probably won't work" because they're tiny and barely cut through paper, much less hard plastic. But Alvin was like "no! Sewing scissors are really strong! I bent them." HAHA sigh. Henry ended up using my serrated knife to cut through the plastic. It looks like a monster tore it up.

We spent the night talking and sleeping at 2. Henry and Eric were amazed by the awesomeness that is the second shower stall of my hall. It has water presure like no other - I can't put my face directly under the stream of water or I feel like my eyes are going to get slapped out. It's also insanely hot, and by the time you're done, it feels like all the dead skin cells have been blasted away. Danny was the last to shower. He didn't bring soap or a towel. I wonder if he was planning to shower at all in this week. HAHA

And now they are awake. So I must fleee. THANK YOU to my friends who pitched in for the camera. :)

I am kind of confused about what day it is

Yesterday felt like it was three days but it was really ONE. This is going to be a very xanga-ish entry where I talk about my day, and the entry is only interesting to the people who are mentioned in it.

I woke up at 4:10 in the morning because Connie was supposed to pick me up to go to Ontario Mills for Black Friday shopping. It turned out she had changed the time to 6:00 and the text didn't reach me. I woke up naturally at 3:45, and I was like "I wonder what time it is. It can't possibly be anywhere close to 4:00 because it looks like it's midnight" but I forced myself to look at the time and I was very unpleasantly surprised. Instead of going back to sleep, for some reason I found it necessary to turn on the computer and check all my usual websites. Which was really unnecessary because no one really blogs on Thanksgiving night. Besides me. Then Connie came and we drove off.

We shopped until 1 I think. Halfway through, my legs were in extreme pain and I kind of wanted to die. All those hours of shopping for ... a pair of Nine West heels for $21.53. Yes, Black Friday is WELL worth it. -__- I really hope it gets ingrained into my head NEVER to go black friday shopping again. All the good stores have extremely long lines that wrap around the store, and all the stores with fewer people don't have any good deals. Plus, since we went to an outlet, everything is basically the same price anyway. Also, when I get accidentally pushed by someone, usually I figure that it was an accident but on black Friday shopping day, I instinctively respond with "fucking pushy shopper bitch!" In my head of course. I think I'll try doing all my Christmas shopping on College Ave, where the feeling is much different from a mall atmosphere.

Black Friday shopping is probably the only time I ever think guys are smarter than girls. The boys went to Frys and made a little game plan of what to buy and who would get the thing. They actually do end up saving a lot of money, and the things they buy are well worth it. Girls end up going to some mall where they have to circle around a parking lot for hours and THEN walk for hours and hours. At least I know I worked off my Thanksgiving dinner.

We had Jamba Juice, which I kind of did not want to have because I wanted to eat at home, but I did anyway. From now on, I have to start getting the smaller size, not the original because even though it's just Jamba Juice, which is fairly healthy, I still think I'm eating too much. Smaller portions! I have an index card somewhere in my dorm where I wrote a bunch of diet rules, one of which was "Eat like a French person."

I went home and slept for an hour then woke up and went to Best Buy and Circuit City with my brother. Biggest effing waste of time EVER. I wanted to buy How I Met Your Mother season 1 ($12.98 at Circuit City!) and Friday Night Lights but they weren't there. ARGH! WHO is buying How I Met Your Mother dvds?! No one watches that show. If you do, come be my friend.

Then I called a bunch of people to go to Souplantation. I thought I would just ask Danny to give me a ride and then I remembered he can't drive at night because his headlights are broken. So I called Owen. Then Eric called and I was like "ERIC! Can you take me because I assume that if Owen gives me a ride, I'm going to arrive twenty minutes late" and he was like sure. Right after I hung up, Owen calls and is like "hey I'm near your house" and he was EARLY. Bizarre twist of events.

Mmm Souplantation. I managed to not get chili. I got a lot of salad, mac & cheese, biscuit (soooo good which means soooo buttery), cornbread, blueberry muffin, and apple cobbler with frozen yogurt. I regret ... the blueberry muffin. It looks like that's so little food, especially compared with what I used to eat, but I think now, a typical dinner would have just consisted of the salad. I'm not paying $8 for a salad though.

Then we drove off to Frances L's. It was super windy, and as we were sitting in the parking lot we were like AHHH TYPHOON! I went in Eric's car and we drove to pick up Henry and Jackie, which resulted in our arriving 20 minutes later than everyone else who left the same time we did. I kind of figured they would just sit in their cars outside Frances', which they did. HAHA

I heart Frances L's house. We get to do a lot of the things there that I love to do with TMV, which includes eating, talking, playing video games, and watching trashy tv. We played on her Wii, and it was some sort of game with a lot of mini-games. Then we decided to turn it off and watch tv. BEST SHOWS EVER. It's very surprising how Eric, Frances L, and I all have oddly a lot of a knowledge about trashy mtv shows. We watched Gay, Straight or Taken first and I got it right for BOTH episodes. I think it's a mix of my fabulous gaydar plus I've watched so much reality tv that I can pick up on the little clues that writers set up to reveal a character. Then we watched Tila Tequila HAHA. So much good conversation results from these two shows

Frances L (to Eric): Did you know who she was before the show?
Eric: *pause*
Me: You mean, did he watch Tila Tequila in a porno?

Show: *man goes on a date with a girl doing some sort of martial arts and he punches really horribly*
Everyone: OMGGG GAY! SO GAY!

Frances L: Is Tila even her first name?
Everyone: Hmm ... I don't know
Owen: I think her real name is Tila Nguyen
Me: WHAT?! You guys NEVER know any celebrity's name but you know that her name is Tila Nguyen?!

*commercial for The OC comes on*
Frances L: Do you guys like Mischa Barton or Rachel Bilson more?
Eric: I don't even know which one is which
Frances L: Mischa Barton is blonde and Rachel Bilson is---
Me: WHAT!? You don't know which one is which?!
Eric: Just tell me who Rachel Wilson is!
Me and Frances L: BILSON.

Frances L: Do you think Blake Lively is pretty? She's the one in ... Traveling Pants
Me: There's no way they will know what you're talking about.
Eric: Yeah. What Traveling Pants movie?
Frances L: The girl in that movie, Accepted
Eric: OHHH HER! Yeah she's pretty hot

That's as far as my memory reaches but I know my throat was getting hoarse from yelling and laughing while playing Wii and watching awesome tv. We watched Man Vs. Wild too. Apparently it is a show that appeals to all. People then kept falling asleep and at some point, Eric and I were both sleeping while Henry and Frances played Wii tennis. Every time I sleep in Frances' couch, I have to cover my entire body with her pillows so my body heat is contained. I wonder how crazy I look - a little mound of pillows. I woke up at 3 and we decided to leave. The entire night, I kept thinking it was already 2am but I would look over and it'd be like 9.

It is also INSANELY cold here. I really don't get it - I think it's much colder than Berkeley is. The car ride was a little painful because we were all freezing.

Now it's 12:20. I woke up at 10 - too late to go running :( Oh well. I want to call people to make plans but no one would be available right now. TMV should be early risers. Then we can eat Ihop together at 8am in the morning.
